Pros and cons of punishment


INTRODUCTION

•Punishment is the action of imposing something unpleasant on a person or animal in response to an unwanted, disobedient or morally wrong behavior.
•Teachers or prefects face a unique set of challenges and responsibilities when supervising and teaching student. Punishment can teach the students how to learn to live cooperatively with others and to develop problem-solving skills to positively cope with the demands of the adult.


THE PROS OF PUNISHMENT

•Punishment can lower the criminal and Juana cases.
•Punishment can give lesson to the student.
•Punishment is part of school responsibility.


1.Punishment can lower the criminal and Juana cases.
-Stated cases like, bullying, ragging, smoking in school compound area, bring illegal things to school, playing truant and so forth.
-Other student will scared of breaking the rules and get involves in discipline problem.

2.Punishment can give lesson to the student.
-Punishment can give lesson to the student not only to the student that being punished but to the other student that is not being punished.
-When punishment is enforce, there will be less possibility that the same student will do the same mistake again in the following day.


3.punishment is part of school responsibility.
-All the school or learning institution has to have discipline agenda in the teaching objective.
-Teachers or prefects have to play a role in teaching student to become a good person.


THE CONS OF PUNISHMENT
•Hitting does not teach the children any alternatives to the undesired behavior.
• Punishment affects your children's feelings of self worth.

-When children display unacceptable behavior in families, parents often focus their energy on changing the behavior .
-Angry at the behavior, parents often turn to punishment to stop it.

-If parent foster children have been starved for attention, they may have learned that misbehaving gets attention.
-The attention or punishment is negative, but at least it fills the need.
-If parent show their children more positive ways to get attention, you can fill the need and stop the misbehavior at the same time.


CONCLUSION
•As a conclusion there are many advantages and disadvantages of punishment. The execution of punishment depends on individuals’ point of view whether they agree or disagree. It shows that punishment is importance to students in order to make the children more discipline and be a good person in future.
